I feel that my practice revolves around a questioning of ideology. This began first through exploring my personal role as homosexual in the world and how others perceived that role, but has now expanded to an exploration of identity based on notions of ownership, permanence and home. I began making art in search of answers, but it appears more and more that the answers I am making for myself do not solve anything, but are further complicated through additional questions that arise. I make art because it is a way for me to join conversations that have perhaps been previously tackled, but bringing my own set of complications and questions that need to be addressed—and if more questions than answers arise, so be it. Art is for me (and others), a way of exploring, questioning and sometimes presenting answers (whether true or constructed) to the human condition.
laz:
drop i feel

drop this began first, just get to exploration of identity and the rest of that sentence
drop previously tackled and so be it parts...
the last phase is a bit grand, lets reel that in a bit :)
