I decided to take a year off of school and travel, I went on a roadtrip across America, went to Europe for a short stint, went to the Caribbean, did some hiking in Utah and my camera came with me everywhere. As a result I have upwards of 200 rolls of film in developed negative form that I have no idea what to do with. My goals for the class are twofold. I would like to organize all the film, try to look at it with fresh eyes, do some serious series editing and figure out what it is I have accumulated hopefully culminating in a book (Im talking about self publishing like 2 copy, one for me one for my mom). The second piece is, in late July a friend of mine would like to do a show of the work that we have both done in the last year. I want so badly to be able to do it but as things stand now I am far to unorganized and am having some serious trouble looking at the work with objective eyes. Im thinking this class with be the perfect opportunity to get some much needed help figuring out how to turn my large box of negatives into something a bit more prolific.
